A collection of projects where Nordic sensibility meets Canadian landscapes
We've been fortunate to work with some amazing clients over the years. Each project taught us something new about balancing aesthetics with functionality, and how to bring that clean Nordic approach to life in different contexts.
This one was a dream - clients wanted something that felt like it belonged in the mountains but didn't scream 'ski chalet'. We went with clean lines, massive windows to frame those views, and local timber that'll age beautifully. The challenge? Making it feel warm despite all that glass and concrete.
Converting an old warehouse into a collaborative workspace was trickier than we thought. Had to keep the industrial bones while making it feel fresh and inviting. Lots of natural light, flexible spaces, and yeah - we snuck in some Nordic color palettes because why not?
Heritage work is always humbling. You're dealing with craftsmanship from another era, and your job is to honor that while making the building functional for today. This 1908 gem needed serious structural work, new systems, and seismic upgrades - all while keeping its character intact.
Client had a gorgeous space with killer views but it felt cold and sterile. We brought in warmer materials - white oak, natural textiles, some muted earth tones - while keeping that minimal aesthetic they loved. It's amazing what the right lighting and spatial flow can do.
Healthcare spaces need to feel calming, not clinical. We used lots of natural materials, brought in tons of daylight, and created these quiet little nooks throughout. The layout encourages movement and there's this central courtyard that everyone gravitates to.
Building on a steep lakefront lot isn't for the faint of heart. We terraced the structure down the slope, creating these different zones that all connect to outdoor spaces. Every room has lake views and there's this continuous flow from inside to out.
Restaurant design is always fun because you're creating an experience, not just a space. This client wanted that hygge feeling but in a way that worked for a busy dining room. We played with lighting a lot - dim enough to be intimate but you can still see your food, y'know?
West coast rainforest meets Scandinavian simplicity. The site was incredible but challenging - we had to work around some massive old-growth trees. The building kinda weaves through the landscape instead of dominating it.
We're always excited to hear about new ideas and challenges. Whether it's a renovation, new build, or something in between - let's talk.
